Bill Russell

Bill Russell led the Celtics to 11 World Championships in his 13 seasons. He was elected to the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame in 1974. In 1962-63, Russell averaged 16.8 points per game and 23.6 rebounds per game en route to his fourth league MVP award. In 1980, the Professional Basketball Writers of America declared him the Greatest Player in the History of the NBA. Russell Holds the all-time record for rebounds in a finals game with 40, which he did twice. The five-time MVP and 12-time NBA All-Star was also player/coach for the Celtics in his final three years with the team.
